Weight and obesity are serious problems in our world today. In fact, in the United States alone, more than 64% of the adult community is overweight or clinically obese. This number is continually growing, indicating that normal weight loss methods, such as diet and exercise, are not being used successfully. So, are diet pills the answer to this serious medical condition? Do these so-called slimming pills contain the magic solution that melts away the pounds, and will they work for you?
Getting a Diet Pill Prescription
In order to get a strong diet pill if you live in the UK or U.S., you will need to attain a prescription from your medical doctor. You will need to talk over the potential risks and benefits of going on diet pills. Remember that any time you are using a diet pill to maximize your weight loss, you must also change your lifestyle, incorporating more exercise and better eating habits into your day-to-day routine. Keep in mind that diet pills are never safe for pregnant or nursing women. Some popular drugs you may be prescribed are Reductil, Xenical, and Acomplia.
Reductil – Control Your Appetite
Reductil slimming pills, which are known as Meridia in the Untied States, are diet pills that work to control your appetite and help you lose weight. Reductil works with your brain to chemically control your appetite so that you will feel full and satisfied while eating less. Also, this medication causes your metabolism to increase, helping you burn more calories with your day-to-day activities. When combined with other weight loss efforts, Reductil can cause up to three times more weight loss than diet and exercise alone, according to clinical research.
There are some people who should not take Reductil because it poses a risk to their health. Do not take this product if you suffer from any of the following conditions:
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Cardiovascular disease
Allergy to sibutramine or other ingredients
Epilepsy
Liver disease
Kidney disease
Eye disease
Turret’s Syndrome
If you suffer from one or more of these conditions, Reductil could cause a serious medical complication, so discuss other weight loss options with your doctor.
Xenical – Blocking Fat
Xenical is another prescription diet pill that is particularly popular in the United States. Xenical does not suppress your appetite or increase your metabolism. Instead, Xenical will block a third of the fat that you consume. The fat is blocked done by inhibiting the functioning of lipases, the enzymes in the digestive tract that metabolize fat. When these enzymes do not break down the fat, it cannot be stored in your body and is eliminated through your bowel movements. Since your body is not absorbing a third of the fat it used to absorb, you will begin to lose weight, provided you have made the lifestyle changes that are necessary for lasting weight loss. In clinical studies, those on Xenical lost, on average, twice as much weight as those who only dieted.
While Xenical is highly effective in helping people lose weight, one side effect that many experience is extremely loose bowel movements and gas with an oily discharge. This usually happens because the patient did not change his or her diet, and is still consuming significant amounts of fat. The fat, since it has been blocked from the body, is expelled in the bowel movements. The best way to keep this from happening is to eat healthy while on Xenical.
Acomplia _ The Anti Smoking Diet Pill
Acomplia is a newer drug that has been approved for use in Europe, but has not yet been approved in the United States. Acomplia blocks the CB1 receptor, one of two receptors found in the hypothalamus region of the brain and throughout the body. The receptors were targeted for this medication because they also are found in fat cells and are believed to cause the craving and satisfaction cycle that causes many people to overeat. By blocking this receptor, Acomplia effectively suppresses the appetite and food cravings and helps restore balance in the body. These diet pills also appear to decrease dependence on tobacco. For this reason, many are calling Acomplia the “anti smoking diet pill,” because it appears to help patients lose weight and quit smoking at the same time.
Acomplia is somewhat controversial at this time. Some patients experience serious bouts of dizziness while on this medication. It also can affect a patient’s mood, causing depression or anxiety attacks. These effects typically subside after the initial adjustment period, but they can be quite severe. Patients with liver disease should not take this product.
Lifelong Weight Loss
Diet pills cannot replace the need for a proper diet and plenty of exercise when a patient is trying to lose weight. However, with the advice of a doctor, these slimming pills can help patients struggling with obesity meet their goals. The important thing to remember, though, is that there is no “magic” weight loss pill. Each of these medications has potential side effects, and should only be used under the supervision of a qualified medical professional. Lifelong weight loss is a result of changing your habits, and can be boosted by the addition of weight loss pills to your daily life.

Where can I download good theme for WordPress? There are very cool themes, but sometimes limited in settings. I have tried last versions of free and premium Metamorphosis, Viso, Red Steel, Traction, also I tried also BAsense – simple, but made for AdSense. Infrequent I can see something cool but good in settings.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
